this is a template sub-issue, it's a lower issue and should be resolved before any of its parents
we need to secure our application even further. i just found out a new type of tokens called paseto, it fits our requirements. take a look at it here: https://paseto.io/
it has a python library so we should use that! the codebase is ready for this new feature so we should be good to go
